Fendi is an Italian luxury fashion brand, founded in 1925 in Rome by Adele and Edoardo Fendi as a fur and leather handbag store. The brand's growth occurred after World War II, when the founders' five daughters joined the family business. A revolutionary moment for Fendi was the employment of German designer Karl Lagerfeld in 1965, who contributed to the brand's international fame by creating the famous logo with two letters "F". Under Lagerfeld's leadership, Fendi has become synonymous with fashion innovation, particularly known for its experimental approach to materials and techniques for working with leather and fur.
